Mushrooms in creamy tomato gravy.

Ingredients:

1 pack of white mushrooms (250gms) chopped to slices
2 onions finely chopped
2 ripe tomatoes chopped finely
2 or 3 green chillies chopped
1 cup of milk
pinch of turmeric
few springs of fresh coriander
salt to taste

For seasoning:

1tsp mustard seeds
1tsp jeera (jeelakarra, cumin)
1tsp urad dal (minapappu)
1tsp chana dal (senaga pappu)

Procedure:

  • Wash the sliced mushrooms in hot water and keep aside.
  • Do the seasoning in a pan with little oil.
  • Add the chillies and onions.
  • Saute till tender and then add a pinch of turmeric and saute for a minute.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and again saute them for two minutes till they mix well with onions.
  • Finally add the tomatoes and cook the mushrooms in the juice of tomatoes and do not add any water.
  • Cook them on a low flame and once the mushrooms are done add salt and stir well.
  • Add the cup of milk and continue cooking on low flame till the juice thickens.
  • Garnish with coriander.

    The delicious mushroom curry is ready! It goes well both with rotis and rice.
