Tomato Dal (pappu)

Ingredients:

2 big Tomatoes (chopped)
1 big Onion (sliced lengthwise)
1 cup toor dal ( boiled )
Salt to taste
Pinch of turmeric

Seasoning:

2 Red Chillies
2 Green Chillies
4 big Garlic cloves
1 spoon mustard seeds
Pinch of Asafoetida ( optional )
Curry leaves ( optional )

Procedure:

In a skillet, add a spoon of oil and do the seasoning.
Add the chopped onions and saute till they are soft.
Add the tomato pieces, the boiled toor dal, salt and turmeric.
Stir well and cover with a lid for about 7 minutes and cook over a low flame.

You can also garnish the dal, with some fresh coriander.
