Palakurapappu (Spinach dal)

Spinachdal (Palakura pappu) recipe:

Ingredients:
Spinach-1 bunch
Toordal(Kandipappu)-1cup
Pinch of turmeric
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Cumin-1tsp
Redchillies-2
Green chilli-1
Garlic-6 pods

Procedure:

  • Boil the toor dal and keep aside.
  • Heat a spoon of oil in a pan and do the seasoning.
  • Fry the Spinach leaves along with the seasoning in the same pan, till the leaves come together.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric and saute the leaves for a minute.
  • Add the boiled toor dal, to the spinach leaves and mix well.
  • Adjust the salt according to your taste.

This dal tastes equally good with both rice and rotis.
