Recipe for Alu chat:

Ingredients:

Potatoes- 2 (big)
Green peas- 1 cup (frozen)
Onion- 1 (big)
Tomato- 1 (big)
Green chillies- 2
Ginger-garlic paste- 2 tsps
Chat masala- 3tsps (any brand)

Procedure:

• Boil, peel and partly mash the potatoes.
• Mash half cup of green peas and keep aside.
• If the green peas are not frozen ones, then soak them few hours before and then boil and mash them.
• Chop the tomatoes and green chillies to small pieces, onions (lengthwise) and keep aside.
• Heat two spoons of oil in a pan and fry the green chillies and ginger-garlic paste.
• Add the chopped onions and fry till they leave the raw smell.
• Add the tomatoes and saute until they become soft and come together.
• Add the partly mashed potatoes, mashed green peas, and the remaining half cup of green peas.
• Add the chat masala and adjust the salt as required.
• Mix the entire stuff well, add a cup of water and cover with a lid for five minutes.
• Serve it hot, by garnishing with some fresh coriander, finely chopped onions.
• You can even sprinkle some lime juice, just before serving.
