Whole Moong ki Sabji(Pesarlu kura)

Recipe for whole moong ki sabji:

Ingredients:

Whole moong- 1 cup
Tomato- 1 (big)
Onion- 1 (big)
Garlic paste- 2 tsp
Dhaniya powder (coriander pwd)- 2 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Green chillies- 2
Milk cream- 2 tsp

Procedure:

  • Soak the whole moong atleast for eight hours.
  • Drain and boil the moong and keep aside.
  • Heat little oil in a pan and fry the chopped green chillies and garlic paste for a minute, until garlic leaves the raw smell.
  • Chop the onions lengthwise and saute them in the same pan for few minutes, till they turn to light brown.
  • Add the chopped tomato pieces, turmeric, dhaniya powder, garam masala, and salt as required.
  • Mix the entire stuff well, and add the boiled moong and cover with a lid.
  • Once the tomatoes are soft, add the milk cream and mix well.
  • Cook for another five minutes and put off the stove.
  • Serve it hot, garnished with some fresh coriander.

It can be eaten just like that, without any accompaniment. It also tastes good with roti, phulka or naan.
