Chana Vada (Senaga pappu garelu)
Recipe for Chana Vada:
Ingredients:
Chana dal (senaga pappu)- 1 cup
Onion- 1 (chopped to small pieces)
green chillies- 4 (chopped)
Cabbage- 1 cup (shredded)
Curry leaves-few (optional)
Ginger- small piece (chopped)
Salt to taste

Procedure:
- Soak the chana dal for one hour.
- Grind three- fourth of the soaked dal to a smooth paste (thick in consistency).
- Add the remaining one- fourth of the saoked chana dal, chopped onions, cabbage, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves (optional) and salt to the chana paste.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Heat a deep frying pan with sufficient oil to fry the vadas (about two cups).
- Take small portions of the vada batter and fry them in the oil, till they turn brown.
- Tranfer them to a plate with a kitchen paper.


Serve the vadas with some chutney of your choice.
They taste good even with ketchup.
