Masoor dal ki makhani
Recipe for Masoor dal ki makhani:
Ingredients:
Masoor dal- 1 cup
Milk cream- 1/2 cup
Green chillies- 2
Butter- 2 tsps
Onion- 1 (big)
Ginger- garlic paste- 1 tsp
Tomatoes- 2 or puree- 1 cup
Dal makhani masala- 1 tsp
Pinch of turmeric
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander for garnishing

Procedure:
- Wash and boil the masoor dal adding a pinch of turmeric.
- Heat little oil in a wide skillet, add the chopped green chillies and fry for a minute.
- Add the chopped onions and saute, till they leave the raw smell.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and saute till they turn soft.
- Add the turmeric, dal makhani masala, salt and the boiled dal.
- Add the milk cream and butter and mix well.
- Cover with a lid and cook for five minutes, till the dal absorbs the spices well.
- Garnish the dal makhani with some fresh coriander and serve it hot.

It is a good accompaniment for rotis, naans, phulkas and even steamed rice.
