Mirch Ka Salan

Recipe for Mirch ka Salan:

Ingredients:

Big size green chilies- 6 or 7
Grated coconut- 1 tbsp
Sesame seeds- 2 tbsp
Peanuts- Fistful
Tamarind- big lemon size (soaked in water)
Oil- 100g
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

1 bunch of curry and coriander leaves
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tsp

Procedure:

  • Fry the grated coconut, sesame seeds and peanuts without any oil and blend them to a fine powder.
  • Heat oil in a pan, fry mustard and fenugreek seeds and curry leaves for few minutes.
  • Then add green chilies and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the ground mixture to the green chilies and fry until the oil separates from the chillies.
  • To this, add salt, turmeric, tamarind water and cook on low heat until the gravy thickens.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
