Ginni Rotti and Nuvvulapappu pachadi
Recipe for Ginni rotti:

Ingredients:
urad dal-1 cup
Rice rava- One and a half cup
Oil for roasting
Salt to taste
Lemon
A heavy and low bottomed pan
Procedure:
- Soak the urad dal and rice rava separately overnight.
- Grind the urad dal to a very smooth batter.
- Add the pre soaked rice rava and adjust the salt.
- Heat a low bottomed pan.
- Add sufficient oil to the pan and slowly pour the batter into it.
- Cook it on a low flame, so that a hard brown layer starts forming at the bottom.
- Check ocassionally, to avoid burning and add oil if necessary, as it requires quite a good amount of oil.
- Serve it with Sesame chutney(Nuvvulapappu pachadi).It is a unique combination and no other chutney can match this.
Recipe for Nuvvulapappu pachadi:

Ingredients:
Sesame seeds- 1 cup
Green chillies- 2
Red chillies- 2 or 3
Diluted tamarind water- half cup
Salt to taste
Pinch of turmeric
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp for seasoning
Procedure:
- Fry the red chillies in half a teaspoon of oil and let them cool down to room temperature.
- Grind the sesame seeds, red chillies, green chillies, turmeric and salt, by adding tamarind water, to a smooth consistency.
- Heat a spoon of oil, add the mustard seeds and wait until they splutter.
- Add them to the chutney and mix well.
- Squeeze a lemon, in the chutney and serve it with Ginni rotti.
