Alu Bonda
Recipe for Alu Bonda:

Ingredients:
Potatoes- 2 (big)
Onion- 1 (medium)
Green chillies- 2 or 3
Fresh coriander- 1 cup (chopped)
Gram flour- 1 cup
Salt to taste
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Lemon- 1 (small)
Oil for frying
Procedure:
- Boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
- Chop the onion and chillies finely.
- Add the chopped onions, chillies, coriander and salt to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Squeeze the lemon into this mash and mix thoroughly.
- Shape it into 4 or 5 round balls to the size of a small lemon.
- Take gram flour in a small bowl, add salt and chilli powder and mix well.
- Add water to the flour slowly, to make a thick batter, without any lumps.
- Heat a deep bottomed pan and add sufficient oil for frying.
- Once the oil is hot enough for frying, simmer the flame.
- Dip one ball in the batter and coat it well with the batter.
- Slowly drop it into the oil and fry until it turns light brown.
- Repeat the same for the remaining bondas.
- Serve them hot with ketchup or coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice.
